You’ve spent your time learning how to do what you do well. So well you’ve made a business out of it. But while you were getting good at your skill set and becoming a small business owner, you didn’t spend much time learning how to use the Internet to your (and your business’s) advantage. Maybe you have a web site that was written years ago and it’s time for an overhaul, or maybe you’re starting from scratch and don’t know what to do. Maybe you need to talk with someone about whether you need to be on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Flickr, Yelp!, and on and on… And seriously, just what is a blog, anyway?
I understand. In part because many of the people I know are small business owners who don’t have training in online marketing. I started helping my friends and family get their sites up and running, a natural fit with my background in tutoring. While I was earning my bachelors degree in Technical Communications and Professional Writing, I learned even more about how to optimize content for the web, small but important aspects of design that make the difference between professional and amateur, and how to use design software to achieve those results.
Services I provide:
- Help designing your own web site on a free platform.
- Optimizing your content for the web to help get you found in search engines.
- Discuss social media’s role in your business and help choosing a brand-consistent social media campaign.
- Discuss how to stay in contact with customers & clients through digital means, such as newsletters, an email marketing campaign, or consistent updates to your site.
- Update your site and materials going forward, or teach you how to do it yourself.
- Teach you computer skills necessary for what you want to accomplish.
A small business is a hugely personal endeavor, and its web site should reflect the personality of the business and its owner. My goal is for your site to reflect your voice and your vision.
